Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to discuss about the great Indian Railway as it is the biggest railway of the world with the worst facilities and full of corruption. Here I invite everyone who is interested in sharing his viewes or stories about his travel through Indian railway. But befor starting I would like to introduce Indian Railways:

Indian Railways is divided into seventeen zonal railways, and each zonal railway is subdivided into Divisions. There are about 67 divisions. Indian Railway's rail network is the busiest in the world, transporting over 18 million passengers and more than 2 million tonnes of freight daily.

The Best Train for Delhi Lucknow Gomti Express

Having this chance after a long time, I was very happy that again I am traveling through the train which is not Shatabdi or Rajdhani but still famous to reach on its destination on time.

But as soon as I put my first step in train, I realized what blunder I had made. Yes, it was actually a blunder as to reach my reserved seat from the door of my compartment which was just two rows away it took around 10 minutes, that is also jumping over the heads and shoulders of companion travelers those who were with general tickets were also available in the same compartment as well as I believe that most of them were without ticket.

Story of my travel do not finish at this point, it was just a start. Every 20-30 minutes at least 2-3 vendors with food items like chips, cold drink were entering into compartment and shouting with their full voice, strong enough to let any parson with a sound sleep like kumbhkarna will also get awake. Every seat was having an arrangement to accommodate 3 people and at some place there were 4 or 5 persons sitting. Persons who were sitting on seats were less than the number standing or sitting on the pathway, door and near the toilet.

I strongly believe if railway will make all these 2nd class sitting compartments into general compartments it would become more convenient as people who believe in convenience and do not get disrupted services like this, will reserve their seats in AC sitting compartments.

So at least I have decided that I will travel only through AC if I need to travel again in Gomti, what you believe I don’t know. I also wish to give my sincere advice to our respected railway minister if you are not able to maintain the decorum of the parliament, kindly try to maintain it in train as people pay to travel with convenience when they pay additional amount for reserving their seats.
